CDEC Gaming and PSG.LGD will face each other in the DPL-CDA tournament. The two teams are in the top four of the tournament so far and are two of the strongest Chinese Dota2 teams. The DPL-CDA League features eight CDA teams and two teams from the promotion league. The tournament has a ¥500,000 (approx. $70,486 USD) prize pool and features some of the best Chinese teams in action. Teams get an additional ¥4,500 (approx. $634 USD) per win while the loser of the match gets ¥500 (approx. $70.50 USD).
CDEC Gaming is currently 5-3 in the tournament having won their last four matches in the DPL-CDA League. The team has definitely found its rhythm and is constantly pushing forward with innovative playstyles.
CDEC’s roster includes former PSG.LGD position 1 player, Wang "Ame" Chunyu, who has repeatedly put forth strong individual performances. However, in terms of team synergy, CDEC still has a long way to go before it can count itself on the same pedestal as the likes of PSG.LGD and Vici Gaming.
PSG.LGD has been one of the strongest Chinese Dota2 teams in the past few years. They reached the grand finals of TI8 and were the third-best team in TI9. However, in the DPC 2019-20, PSG.LGD simply could not find its footing.
The team’s performance saw them unable to qualify for multiple DPC events and losing matches in open qualifiers. However, so far the team has shown significant improvement over their opponents. PSG.LGD players have a better team s synergy and a higher skill ceiling. However, their understanding of the ever-changing Dota2 meta was a fact that set them lagging behind their opponents. PSG.LGD has the momentum after winning several matches in the DPL-CDA and the China Dota2 Professional League Season 2.
